Narrabri Town Walk & Survey Celebration!

Author: Kate

Join us for a vibrant rally through Narrabri, unifying locals and visiting supporters, to celebrate the town survey results – the demonstrated level of support for renewable energy jobs and the significant concern about the Narrabri Gas Project.

There is so much to celebrate! Years of community effort has delayed the Narrabri Gas Project. Again, the project is currently stalled in the assessment process.

Yet, as soon as Santos supplies requested information, the process will pick up and the threat will be live. This could occur at any moment.

We must maintain visibility and keep the momentum rolling. This will be an important moment to oppose CSG in the Pilliga, across the North West

Namoi ICPA (Isolated Children Parents’ Association) AGM

Author: Kate

I’m forwarding this AGM notice in case there are any families in the area who may be interested in joining the Namoi ICPA (Isolated Children Parents’ Association)
Please come along to the AGM in Wee Waa if you are keen to know more.

Hope you are all going along well and no doubt many are still waiting for the rain to come!

We are having the AGM in Wee Waa at the Nursery on Wed 7th November starting at 11am. Morning tea will be able to be purchased and paid for by the branch and if anyone would like to stay for lunch after the meeting it would be great. I don’t think the meeting will go for more than an hour or so as we haven’t a lot to discuss this time round.

Please come along for a catch up and bring a friend.

We will need to know our numbers by Monday the 5th please so we can inform the nursery.

If there are an agenda items members would like to add please let me know by the 5th.

Looking forward to seeing as many members as possible this year on the 7th.

Kind Regards

Anna Sevil

Political Candidate Roy Butler will be in Wee Waa Friday 16th, November

Author: Kate

I know that we're not better off with the National Party in Government.

Barwon is the largest electorate in New South Wales, and yet we keep being ignored.

Over the coming months, I want to hear about what matters to you in our area because every town and every community is different.

We could use the same level of funding and attention from being a marginal seat that Philip Donato brought to the Orange electorate.

Dressage Protocol Days

Author: Kate

Dressage Protocol Days are a great opportunity for riders to learn how to improve the riding of a dressage test in a more relaxed environment, by giving them 'on the spot' access to the dressage judge. Unlike a riding clinic, these protocol days focus on 'how' the test is ridden, rather than whether a rider can walk, trot or canter.

Each rider rides a test, then has the opportunity to talk with the judge who will give feedback on how to improve the riding of the test or individual movements - all with the view to gaining more marks.

It's also a great opportunity to learn about the language used by a dressage judge and gain insight into what they are looking for without the added pressure of competition. It is not essentially different from a rider discussing the test with the judge after a competition except that there is an opportunity to repeat movements.

Wean Picnic Races

Boggabri

Author: Kate

Wean Races are an annual event. The Wean Picnic Race day is a family friendly day that caters for all parts of the community. It is also living history, being one of the last bush picnics.

Since 1933, the Wean Amateur Picnic Races has been one of the historic meeting places of North West NSW. As more and more Picnic clubs from that era pass into history, it is also one of the few functioning examples left of how previous generations used to entertain themselves.
